Infographic: Optimizing T-cell receptor avidity with somatic hypermutation

The adoptive transfer of genetically modified T-Cells as an immunotherapy method has potential to transform cancer treatment.  This approach requires engineered T-Cells to express high affinity antitumor T-Cell receptors.  In this infographic, we summarize a novel approach of using directed evolution to increase T-Cell avidity by adapting an innate B-Cell mechanism termed somatic hypermutation.  This stands to greatly improve the ability to generate high avidity T-Cells for immunotherapy for cancer treatment.
